How odd is what just occurred to John Lynch, as the 36 year-old veteran was released from the Patriots just two weeks after reaching a 1-year contract worth $1.5 million.
The reason? Well the Pats are known for letting veteran players go and then acquiring them back when needed, and it looks like Lynch is under that veil of players, so chances are that he will make it back sooner than one might think.
The 9- time pro-bowler was acquired by the Patriots in replacement of Tank Williams who is out due to a knee injury that will keep him away for at least a year. Lynch played in 3 pre-season games with the Pats and is hopeful of coming back to the team soon.
"I have no regrets about my time thus far with the Patriots, the immense respect that I've long held for the organization has been only heightened over the past couple of weeks. I am going to keep all options open and look forward with excitement to see what the future brings." He said, after hearing the news of his dismissal.
Before coming to the Pats, Lynch played four seasons for the Broncos and 11 for the Bucs, with whom he earned a Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl XXXVII.
