Patriots won the Giants by 3 points for a perfect 16-0 season

The strength of Eli Manning could not stop the Patriots from achieving his 16th consecutive victory for a perfect record, something no other team had done in the past except for the Dolphins that ended 14-0 in 1972.

Manning was inspired during the first half, and the Giants were leading the match entering the second half, and by the third quarter they were ahead 28-16 but the Patriots, on the hands of Tom Brady and Randy Moss, finally won 38-35.

It was probably the most meaningless game of the season in terms of playoffs as both teams were already qualified, but it was a day of records indeed; besides the perfect season from the Patriots, Brady broke Payton Manning's 49 touchdown-pass record, ending with 50 and Moss broke Jerry Rice's record of 22 TD interceptions.

The Giants played their best football but the team that they were facing is one that hasn’t had any rivals all along the season and for New York this game meant motivation, they surely will need Manning to display all his potential against Tampa Bay and against the Patriots he showed he’s ready.

"I don't know any better way to be prepared for the playoffs than to go against a team that was 15-0." Said Giants coach Tom Coughlin before the match.

Can the Patriots be considered the best team of all times? Well, many are hailing them as just that, but there are 3 more games on schedule, two playoff matches and the superbowl, considering that they keep on the same track, they will undoubtedly find their way to a unique place in NFL history.

Ray Allen couldn’t be happier playing with the Celtics

Ray Allen wasn’t really satisfied when he knew he was being traded to the Celtics from the Sonics with whom he was a four-time All Star, but when you get to balance both squads, Boston is overwhelmingly superior, with stars like Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, Allen ended up being the perfect complement for a team that is one of the strongest in the NBA right now and a title contender.

If he had stayed in the Sonics, he would have seeing a little bit more of hard work helping rebuilding a weak Seattle team that hasn’t had a good time this season, and fans really miss his presence there as he was one of the most beloved sports stars along with others like Ichiro Suzuki from the Mariners.

The match between the Celtics and the Sonics that ended up in a 104-96 victory for Boston saw Allen coming back to Seattle for the first time since he left and due to his impact on and off the court, the Sonics paid him a video tribute just before the match started.

"Ray is a true professional and he'll always be valued by the Sonics organization," said Seattle first-year general manager Sam Presti.

The reasons on why Presti dealt Allen are still unclear, some says that he believed ‘Killer Ray’ was a little aged (32) and he wanted younger blood in the team by acquiring Jeff Green whom he taught it was on his way to become a super star.

Now Allen is on the road to the Hall of Fame and his previous team is going trough a re-structuring process that included a new coach and a new GM plus the possibility of leaving Washington to settle in Oklahoma.

Ray Allen was a consecrated star with the Sonics but now he’s thanking Presti’s awkward trading deal as he is now part of one of the strongest teams in the league.

Kevin Everett is walking again

25 year old Kevin Everett, who fell victim of a cervical spine injury on September while attempting to tackle Broncos’s Domenik Hixon is walking again, it was a serious affliction, and for him to be on his own again is remarkable.

Doctors were worried that he might never stand up again but a few days after he enter the hospital, he started to show some movements on his legs and arms and had sensitivity.

He’s been up since he left Memorial Hermann/TIRR and is now receiving physical therapy at the Houston Rehab Center.

"He doesn't have a full natural stride but, yeah, he's walking." a family member told the press.

Bills fans haven’t forgot him, many wears T-shirts with the number 85 on the back for home games and teammates also missed his presence, even though he is not a guy of many words, he is a friend of everybody’s.

"He's got such a great character, and it's obvious. He's not a man of many words, but he doesn't need to speak by words." Said punter Brian Moorman.

Undoubtedly, to be surrounded by people that has gone through the same stuff, has inspired Everett to struggle for recovering, he knows that to be on his feet again is just the first step of a long rehab process, but he is surely not going to give up and soon we might see him doing simple things that right now seems like really hard tasks, like driving a car.

"Their courage and determination inspired me to fight every day for recovery of my ability to walk." Everett said.

The tight end and native of Port Arthur, Texas, hasn’t given that many public speeches since the injury, but he did appeared in a videotaped statement broadcasted on TV before the game against the Patriots on November 18th.

"How are you doing Buffalo? I just want to say, `Come on, let's beat the Patriots."' Were his words.

Trailbrazers victory against the Sonics sums it up for 11 straight wins

10 points made the difference in the victory of The Blazers to the Sonics, 89-79, in Christmas, a privileged date to play at according to many NBA stars. These two teams have met 5 times on December 25th, but the luck is on Portland’s side as they have won all 5 matches.

"It really doesn't seem like Christmas. I'm used to sitting in the house and watching Kobe play, it's an honor playing on a great day like this, but it would have been better if we had gotten the win." Sonics Kevin Durant said.

Portland currently owns the current longest winning streak in the NBA with 12 in a row on the 2001-2002 season, now they are getting close again with 11 straight victories.

Greg Oden and Kevin Durant were the most recent top draft picks, Oden went to the Blazers and Durant to the Sonics.

So when the NBA schedule came out, everybody was expecting a great rivalry on the court for this game, but unfortunately Oden couldn’t make it as he went under surgery on his right knee and haven’t seeing action in the whole season. Durant is averaging 20 points per game, and leads the league’s rookies.

Jarrett Jack and second year Brandon Roy scored 17 points each and Joel Przybilla had 6 points and a season-high 16 rebounds.

These young players along with forward James Jones who is throwing-in every 3 pointer he’s been given are making a statement to Blazers fans: that with or without Oden, they are still one of the strongest teams in the Western Conference.

Christmas and NBA? The perfect gift for the avid fan.

The Giants surprisingly defeated the Bills to clinch a wild card spot into the Playoffs

It hasn’t being the best of seasons for the Giants but they managed to make it to the playoffs for a third straight season by bringing down an inspired Bills team 38-12 in a game where Ahmad Bradshaw scored his first career touchdown, in an impressive 88 yard run.

At last New York handle to run the ball the right away, something they were failing to do, especially in their past game against the Redskins, which they lost 22-10.

The game started under harsh conditions, rain and winds of 30 miles an hour that turned into snow in the fourth quarter, but this unfavorable weather just made the game more interesting, specially when both teams were forced to win.

The Bills had the victory in their hands, they were 14-0 up in the first quarter but their offensive fell as the Giants combative spirit was more than Kevin Everett’s willing to coming back in a big way, he returned to the field where he was injured.

Amani Toomer was the top receiver of the night with 99 yards rolled in 5 catches that includes a 39 yard grab.

“It meant a lot to us to win this game and get into the playoffs, we are not ever going to quit. We're always fighting to the end." Toomer said.

The Giants have shown a great deal of potential and have proved everybody that even though they are considered an imperfect team, they do have enough guts to fight adversity, now they have to play against the Patriots on Saturday night for the regular-season finale, a game that doesn’t represent any pressure at all for the Big Blue.

Fans of the Giants should be praying for a victory against the Pats as they are the dominant force at the NFL right now, with a record of 15-0, which is a franchise record, now they will try to sum one more up; Eli Manning and Trent Edwards who had a 50.0 record last Saturday are the hope of New York, they will definitely try to give their best against New England as their team needs to built up some trust for their next game against the Bucs for the playoffs.

Tour de France to start in Scotland

Scotland is the place where ‘Le Tour’ could start after 2010 as officials have confirmed that the the Tour is setup to start in Brittany and Monaco the next two years.

EventScotland a company that was launched early this year with the aim of making Scotland one of the world's major events destinations, is the one promoting the event.

'It's an iconic world-class event, and the kind of event that would sit very well within our portfolio of major events. We haven't discussed possible years yet, or where it might happen.' Said Leon Thompson, EventScotland’s corporate communications manager.

If Tour Director Christian Prudhomme confirms it, Scotland will host the prologue and the first stage of the competition.

Scottish Tour de France rider David Millar said: “It would be amazing, and I think it is realistic.”

Japan has also shown an interest but Scotland has an edge over the Asians due to their proximity to France.

Scotland is not only looking to be part of the Tour de France, Glasgow was just awarded the 2014 Commonwealth Games and they want to stage soccer European Championships after 2016.

This should be a big boost for Scotland’s economy and an honor for a country that has an average level on sports compared to other European countries.

Price Per Head shops in Costa Rica

There is an estimated of 300 gaming-related companies in Costa Rica, the paradise of the top offshore sportsbooks including the best Pay Per Head Shops.

A few pioneers established their businesses in the early 90’s in the country and since then, many have followed their lead. More than 10,000 costarricans are employed by the industry and the lack of regulations has allowed a great expansion.

Quality Sportsbook management is vital, and there is a high degree of education in the country, which is one of the main reasons Pay Per Head shop owners are attracted to the country, another important point is the growth of technological infrastructure.

The government does not have specific laws on gambling, and most companies are self-regulated. Because there is no official regime to recognize license holders, there is no betting or gaming tax. Instead, companies operate under a "data processing" license.

Bookperhead.com is one of the companies that established their business operations in Costa Rica, I have an account with them and honestly, I am always interested to see what is behind the people I’m paying for bookie data processing services.

What I can say is that they trusted their operations to the right country, I have being in Costa Rica and I know the gaming industry is huge there, people is well educated and there is a growing number of people that speaks two or more languages, plus government stability is another big plus as Costa Rica has had a democratic stability for more than 60 years and it is one of the few countries in the world that doesn’t have an army of their own.

Try contacting Bookperhead.com I think they will even offer you to visit them before you decide to trust them your business.

NCAA Bowls previews

The NCAA bowls starts tomorrow December 20th with the Poinsettia Bowl, where Navy receives Utah, a game that will not have Paul Johnson, Navy’s prized coach.

This time, Bowls will be impacted by coaching changes, 17 teams are dealing with internal adjustments. Also, Florida State will visit Kentucky on new year’s eve for the Music City bowl, the Seminoles lost a quarter of his players due to an academic-cheating scandal, but coach Bobby Bowden is always willing to lead his team and encourage his players.

In the list of the most interesting bowls, we have The Cotton Bowl that will bring an interesting match between Missouri and Arkansas, The Rose bowl will see USC’s fast defense dealing with Quarterback Juice Williams and running back Rashard Mendenhall.

At the Sugar Bowl, we’ll see Hawaii’s powerful offensive competing against a well organized defense from Georgia, in the Fiesta Bowl, Oklahoma which many say is the best team in the country will play West Virginia and QB Sam Bradford wants to show why he leads the nation in passing efficiency.

At the Orange bowl, Kansas QB Todd Reesing will have to struggle against Virginia Tech’s strong defense.

Michigan plays Florida at the Capital one Bowl and at the same time Texas tech will play against Virginia, the biggest problem is that both games are going to be aired by different TV stations at the same time, so that will makes it hard for anyone to choose as Florida’s Tim Tebow is the current Heisman Trophy winner and Michigan’s runnerback Mike Hard and WR Mario Manningham are playing at their best.

But the most interesting match is going to take place on January the 7th when LSU plays at Ohio State for the BCS Championship, but there is a chance of low scoring as star players on both teams are in their defensive zone.

In sum, this should be an interesting period where everyone has enough good football to choose from.

Tight victory for the Mavs over the Magic

The Mavs managed to hold the offensive of center Dwight Howard for just long enough to win yesterday’s game against the the Magic 111-108. He went from 6-of-8 in the first quarter to 3-of-8, scoring only 6 points in the last three quarters.

Howard is playing at his best lately, but not just enough compared to Dirk Nowitzki, the reigning MVP, who scored 31 points, 11 of those in the fourth quater.

“I think we're taking a step in the right direction” said Nowitzki at the end of the game.

It was important for the Magic to win this game as they just fell 12-4, losing their last two games, even though when they made more than 50% of its shots on those, much different than the Mavs who achieved their fifth victory in six games.

There was also a sort of personal rivalry going on in the court as Devin Harris outplayed Jameer Nelson, who said in previous interviews that he was more important to the Magic than Harris to the Mavs.

"It was a battle all night, it's good any night I can win the point guard matchup." Harris said.

The Magic certainly had a rough time, but they were taking care of the ball and the game was decided at the last moment, this just means that if the Mavs couldn’t stopped Howard who had an amazing first quarter, the story could be a very different one, so the merit goes to both teams for knowing how to manage the strenghts of their rival, but as in every sport, there is always one winner.

Celtics have nine victories in a row

The Celtics accumulated their ninth straight victory on Sunday in the game against the Raptors that ended 90-77 and are leading the Atlantic Division, the victory came in the hands of Paul Pierce with a game-high 18 points and power forward Kevin Garnett with 16.

The Irish team is 20-2 and this is their longest winning streak in 14 years, and their fastest start since the 1963-64 title season, when they won that championship.

Boston’s strong point has being their defense during this season, as stated by Garnett:

"Our philosophy is that defence is going to win games for us, following the wire-to-wire victory. "We are trying to have the defence fuel the offence, and it's been working." He said.

It seems like Boston’s offensive is wisely divided, and everybody’s shooting fine, the big three Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, are well complemented with a powerful defense.

“That's going to be our staple pretty much all year long, we're going to take pride on the defensive end.” Pierce said.

And even without Allen playing the last two games due to a sore right ankle, the Celtics are one of the most fearful teams around.

The Celtics are currently leading the opponent’s average and scoring differential and are ranking No. 1 in the NBA in points allowed (87.3 per game), opponents' field goal percentage (41.3%), opponents' three-point percentage (30.6%) and opponents' rebounds (37.3).

Kobe Bryant won’t leave the Lakers

Kobe Bryant’s willing to stay with the Lakers is a big change from the well-publicized trade demand he made in May, which he hasn’t rescind but chances are he’ll not be traded.

Kobe’s decision to stay and play with the Los Angeles team might be due to his change of attitude towards other players and coach, he knows he is not good establishing relationships with new coaches and Phil Jackson is one he knows and have learned to deal with.

Kobe even spoke to his fellow team mates about his goals, and how they should be thinking on a championship and not just on getting to the playoffs, this seemed to change their perspective and most of them have gone through an attitude adjustment, finally Kobe is doing what he was supposed to do, leading his team without allowing ego-driven emotions to take on him.

"Sometimes you have to kind of put a fire to them a little bit so that they understand that we're playing for higher stakes." Bryant said

Maybe this change of heart is what has catapulted the Lakers above his rivals recently, they have beaten Phoenix, Utah, Detroit, Golden State, Houston, Chicago and Denver twice, and yesterday they won their fourth game in a row by defeating the Spurs who came from 6 victories in 7 matches.

Kobe Bryant is considered one of the most complete players in the NBA, he has been elected to every All-NBA team since 1999 and has appeared in the last 9 NBA All-Star games, he has 3 championship rings and holds a few records including: Most three-point field goals made, one game, with 12 and Most free throws made, one quarter with 14 among other achievements.

Ronaldo playing with Real Madrid

The sports betting industry is alive and well...

This is my personal story on gambling:

I am an sports fan, mostly of Football, and I knew there was a growing market in online gambling, specially for those who loved the game and are good with numbers, and I am such person.

So eventually I became the unofficial bookmaking agent for friends and relatives, but that was not my only occupation, I am a full time consultant, and I was spending a lot of my time taking care of my “side-job”, which by the way, was growing enormously by word-of-mouth and I couldn’t refused any new arrivals.

So one of my buddies from the UK told me about the Pay Per Head services on the web, and I decided to check for the best PPH sportsbook, and I did found a few interesting options.

I decided to give www.priceperhead.com a chance and have not regret it my decision since then, they are one of the top offshore Pay Per Head shops around and they offer state-of-the-art sportsbook software and well trained betting agents, all I do is pay them a fixed price per every client I have and they take care of the rest, that leaves me with enough time to run the business and take care of my consulting stuff, it really couldn’t get better than this!

Ronaldo might leave Milan in June

Since Ronaldo arrived to Milan, he has just played one game with the Rossoneri, he made an impressive first appearance against Calgary, and everybody was expecting him to show his talent at the fullest but just after that match, he injured his calf just before the game against Benfica for the champions league, and it has being a road down for him since then.

Ronaldo is currently in Japan for the FIFA Club World cup where he’s receiving the support of his teammates.

"The calf is still hurting him, but the doctors will think about this as he is making a lot of treatments and applications with them during this training camp in Japan. We talk to him a lot, because we want him to feel inside the team." Said Brazilian star Kaka.

Milan is playing against Japan's Urawa tomorrow December 14 and Ronaldo is not going to play, however, they expect him to be ready for a potential final on Sunday.

Despite injuries, Ronaldo has enjoyed a glorious career, he has won three FIFA World Player of the Year awards (1996, 1997, 2002), something only him and Zinedine Zidane have achieved, he also was a decisive key player for Brazil when they won the 1994 and 2002 FIFA World Cups and just recently he was named of the best starting 11 of all time by specialized France Football magazine, among other things.

It is almost for sure that "The Phenomenon" is not going to get a contract renewal due to his injury-plagued season with Milan, now his future is uncertain, he might end up in the USA playing along with former team mate from Real Madrid David Beckham at the Galaxy or he might leave to the United Arab Emirates for a lucrative year salary as many others before him like Romario.

Tiger Woods, 9 times player of the year in the PGA

It seems like Tiger Woods is a player out of any ones range, in 11 years he has being voted by fellow golfers as player of the year and has received the Jack Nicklaus Trophy 9 times (the last 3 in a row) and it seems like his nearest contender is far away from his achievements.

"I don't see anyone close. I don't see who the next guy is." Said pro golfer Brad Faxon.

Even when Woods hasn’t done as well as in past seasons, there is a still a big gap between him and Phil Mickelson, his nearest rival, Woods has won 4 PGA championships and Mickelson only 1, in a more broad sense, Woods has 13 major titles and Mickelson only 3.

Woods is one of those players that comes every decade or so, even more in a sport that is not as popular as Football or Baseball, he has won 61 official PGA Tour events, and an extra 20 individual professional titles and was just ranked as number one at the official World Golf Rankings, he has set a few records including the one for the highest Points Average with 32.44 (1459.64 points averaged over 45 events).

This is the seventh time Woods gets the three biggest awards on tour: the Jack Nicklaus Trophy for player of the year, the Arnold Palmer Award for leading the money list ($10.8 million) and the Byron Nelson Award for lowest scoring average (67.79).

Tiger Woods is not just an exceptional golfer , he also has a major in economics from Stanford University and has become a real role model, he thinks golf is just a tool for him to get to others, specially kids; he along with his parents put together The Tiger Woods Foundation to help poor children.

Without a question, he will remain as number one for a long time, the guy has good opponents but no real contenders.

“I really do believe he was put here for a bigger reason than just to play golf. I don't think that he is a god, but I do believe that he was sent by One.” Said former NBA phenomenon Michael Jordan.

Huskies Athletic Director quits

Huskies fans are pretty upset due to their team’s recent results, and mostly because despite those results, Dr. Mark Emmert continues to dismiss their critics and allegations about the poor leadership from both AD Todd Turner and Coach Tyrone Willingham.

Hostility increased when Emmert said that “fans that are giving up tickets because they are tired of losing are not real fans.”

I guess it’s OK to give a coach the chance when he is going through a bad streak, but it’s also nonsense to keep him when his winning percentage is of .304

And both Emmert and Turner are not looking at the figures, the team was placed tied for last and 9th in the Pac-10 conference during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, they also ended up last in the Pac-10 for the 2007 season, this is the third time in four years which makes Willingham the worst coach in Washington’s history.

Turner knew he was making the wrong choices and didn’t wanted to keep on taking the heat for the series of problems and controversies.

Todd Turner’s decision came after after Dr. Emmert decided to keep Willingham despite the team’s continued struggles.

Turner was a constant defender of Willingham but I guess there is a point when guilt is stronger than stubbornness and fans are more than willing to help Turner move his things out of his current office.

Emmert announced Scott Woodward, current Washington’s vice president for internal affairs as Turner’s temporary replacement while the’re promising "a national search" for a permanent replacement.

I guess Turner’s mistake was to not listening to what fans were asking for, he was blinded by his ego and didn’t wanted to recognize he was wrong, now he’ll have the time to meditate on his awkward point of view.

Montoya, a transition to NASCAR

In the world of motor sports there is nothing written, a driver can compete in different categories but it’s not so common to see a transition from Formula one to Nascar, which is the case of the 32 year old Colombian driver.

And it seems like he hasn’t regret it his decision as he won the 2007 Raysbestos Rookie of the year award in his first full season running for the Chip Ganassi Racing team.

It was in July 9, 2006 that Juan Pablo Montoya announced to the world his decision and had never looked back since then.

“I really do feel part of the community, I really like to embrace the entire experience because it's so cool. It's so different from any other series I've ever been in, but it's so cool and something I tell people you've got to come and see for yourself.” he said.

He debuted on October 6, 2006 at the Talladega Superspeedway finishing third, he had a couple of appearances at NASCAR’s second division, the Bush Series, but it was on November 19, 2006 that he debuted in NASCAR’s premier division, the NEXTEL cup series.

His first victory came just before the 06/07 season started, winning the 24 hours of Daytona sports car race along with teammates Scott Pruett and Salvador Duran.

The it came a victory on March 4, 2007 in Mexico City where Montoya won the NASCAR Busch Series Telcel-Motorola 200

Montoya became the first non-US born to win a NASCAR Nextel Cup race after Earl Ross (Canadian) did it in 1974. Montoya also joined Mario Andretti in a select group of only two drivers to win the Indianapolis 500, a Formula One race, and a NASCAR Cup (top-level) race.

Overall, Juan Pablo Montoya seems to have a bright future in NASCAR, he’s a driver that is going to give it all at any competition and against everybody, even though he thinks that the transition from open-wheel racing to stock cars has been more difficult than he never thought.

"Coming here, getting back to the ovals, getting into a big car, big horsepower, very little grip, I'll tell you it's a handful." Montoya said.

Now the seven-time Formula One winner is expecting to compete in the Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 2008 which is one of the hardest competitions in NASCAR racing.

Pistons/Pacers Brawl video

More troubles for Tinsley

Larry Bird, the president of the Indiana Pacers, is concerned about the immediate future of guard Jamaal Tinsley, the 29 year old player has being involved in more than 3 off- field incidents in the past 14 months.

The last one took place yesterday, December 9th, when Tinsley and some friends were targeted in a shooting when leaving "Cloud 9" club.

"This is something we can't just put right behind us and walk away from." Bird said.

The police is not accusing Tinsley or his buddies, they were apparently being followed and James Tinsley, Jamaal’s brother, shot back with a gun he was carrying legally.

The only person affected by the shots was Pacers equipment manager Joey Qatato, he was shot in both elbows and at least three bullets struck Tinsley's Rolls-Royce.

It really wasn’t Tinsley who started anything, but he does recognize that it was a mistake to be out so late at night even when he knows that he has a trial pending on January 2008 concerning a bar fight that occurred almost a year ago and that it also involves another Pacers player, Marquis Daniels.

Tinsley will be sitting with Bird and coach Jim O'Brien today to discuss the situation.

"It was not a good decision and that's basically it, I'm sure he knows that, and I'm sure there will be a lifestyle change for him. But, to the best of our knowledge, he was a victim."O'Brien said.

It seems like the Pacers are growing a bad reputation, starting with the well known Pacers-Pistons brawl that occurred in 2004 which led to the trade of Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson the two players that dealt with a suspension because of the incident.

The team from Indiana would need to take a look at the discipline rules they have imposed and make them more severe so players will think it twice before letting their team’s name down again.

Chargers Titans: Sunday at the LP Field

This Sunday December 9th the Chargers visit the LP Field to face the Titans, the team from San Diego is leading the AFC West Division by 2 games, and they have the chance to seal the title for the 3rd time in 4 years.

NFL’s Rookie of the year of 2006 Vince Young, is the man who everybody praises or condemns for the Titans results, but he has suffered of inconsistency this season and lately, Defensive Tackle Albert Haynesworth is the guy that is showing that he can change things around. The 26 year old player already has set a career high with five sacks - the most for a defensive tackle in the AFC.

“He's probably the most dominant inside player in football right now. He just changes the game.” said Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch

Tennessee is 7-2 when defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is healthy; 0-3 when he’s not.

The Titans are urged to achieve some victories, they are tied with Cleveland for the sixth playoff seed in the AFC so every game against conference opponents is crucial.

"We can't afford to lose any game." Said running back LenDale White

NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson started to questioning the direction San Diego was taken due to the 30-16 home loss at the start of the season to Kansas City, but they redeem themselves with a 24-10 victory last Sunday over the Chiefs to win their second game in a row of a total of 6 of their last 8.

The Bolts are one of the most appealing teams in the NFL right now and the key to it’s success has being its defense, they lead the interceptions in the league with 20 and with a total of 33 takeaways.

I think the Titans weren’t particularly dominant last week, in fact, even with Haynesworth in the starting lineup I would have to take the Chargers

Brett Favre small bio, watch his 421 Touch Down pass

Packers vs. Raiders, this Sunday at Lambeu Field

The Raiders will be heading to Lambeu Field to play the Packers this Sunday, December 9th at 1:00 PM EST, and it looks like Brett Favre is ready to make his 250th straight start for the Packers.

Green Bay’s star Quarterback has only missed 7 games in his 16-year career span, and the injury he suffered during the match against the Cowboys is not holding him back from helping his team clinching their first NFC North title in three seasons.

Also Cornerback Charles Woodson could lineup against Oakland, the team he spent 8 NFL seasons with, before joining the Packers in 2006.

This might also be JaMarcus Russell’s second game with Oakland , the No. 1 overall draft pick made his debut last Sunday against Denver, he entered for Quarterback Josh McCown who threw for 141 yards before sitting down.

"I want Russell to have a great career, and if that starts on Sunday, so be it, because he's the guy. He's the future here. For me, it does me no good to be bitter, and it does this team no good." McCown said .

The Raiders have won two games in a row and expect to sum up one more victory this weekend, the last time they won a series of games straight was on Nov. 11-Dec. 8, 2002, when they accumulated 5 wins.

The Silver and Black are also looking to end up with a number of losses against Green Bay, as Favre’s team have defeated them the last four games.

It’s a deadly run to the Playoffs and games are getting more tight every day, we can expect a great match against this two teams and it’s just too soon come up with an early winner.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a living legend

Without a doubt, one of the greatest players the NBA has seeing; Abdul-Jabbar is one of those players like Michael Jordan, a long time can pass by, and you still have those amazing plays you have watched on TV in your mind.

He was inducted to the Basketball hall of Fame in 1995 and into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.

He was known as Lew Alcindor, and as Alcindor, he won 3 championships with the Power Memorial Academy and led that team to a 71-game winning streak, then 3 NCAA titles with UCLA, being named College Player of the Year twice.

Abdul-Jabbar was picked first at the NBA draft of 1969 by the Bucks (he was also receiving offers from the Globetrotters, the exhibition basketball team from Harlem, New York, to join them during this period).

He had a glorious career in the NBA, obtaining a total of 6 rings, starting with one championship for the Milwaukee Bucks (the day after the victory, he changed his name due to religious motives to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) then another five with the Lakers.

He was known for his trademark play, The Skyhook and in his many records, The Captain still holds a few individual ones at UCLA, including The Highest career Scoring Average: 26.4. And at the NBA, he holds the highest career total, with 38,387.

"In my opinion, he is the most valuable player in the history of the game. No player of comparable size and ability was ever as quick and maneuverable, but his unselfish team play has been equally impressive."Said John Wooden, his coach at UCLA and member of The Basketball Hall of Fame.

Allen Iverson, a small titan between giants

The Denver Nuggets point guard is now a 11 year veteran in the NBA at age 32, he is one of the most consistent scorers of all times, he’s the third leading scorer in NBA history, averaging 27.9 points per game just behind Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain.

He started playing with Georgetown and was selected first pick in the 1996 NBA draft by the 76ers, the same year, he was named rookie of the year.

As much as people admired Iverson’s actions on the field, others were accusing him of not being a team player and of presenting an image not suited for kids, plus lack of respect for the press and notable NBA stars.

But A.I. was just at the beginning of a brilliant career and all of that was just part of his new celebrity status.

The 2000-2001 season is arguably his best, that year he led the 76ers to win 10 games in a row averaging 31 points per game and was chosen the MVP at the NBA all stars game, the previous year he was the only player voted for those honors just after Shaquille O’Neal.

Known for his crossover dribble and for being an adept ball-thief, he is indeed an outstanding player despite of his height (6 ft 0 in).

Due to in and off the field situations, Iverson was traded along with forward Ivan McFarlin to the Denver Nuggets for Andrew Miller, Joe Smith and two first-round picks in the 2007 NBA draft.

Iverson is still one of the best players, he is regarded as one of the best guards to ever play the game and Nuggets fans are constantly filling the Pepsi Center Arena to check his outstanding play.

Patriot’s coach, Bill Belichick, back to Baltimore to face the Ravens

This Monday Night Football match between The Patriots and The Ravens have a special meaning for Bill Belichick, New England’s coach; He’ll be taking his unbeaten Patriots (11-0) to Baltimore, a city that holds some earlier memories from his first NFL job as an assistant in 1975 with the Baltimore Colts, though he’s more fond with Memorial Stadium than the current home of the Ravens, the M&T Bank Stadium.

Memorial Stadium will always hold a special place for me because that’s where I started,” Belichick said.

New England is the favorite to win this game according to oddmakers, and with a 20-point underdog spread over the Ravens, the team from Baltimore is the largest home underdog in history for a game not involving replacement players.

This fact doesn’t seem to bother Ravens receiver Derrick Mason: “We could have been 100-point underdogs. It doesn’t matter to me, if we go out there and do what we need to do and don’t turn the ball over, then we have a good shot of winning this game.” he said.

New England is an outstanding team, but much of that is thanks to Belichick, who has won 3 Superbowls with the Pats.

Even Ravens linebacker Bart Scott, when asked what impressed him about New England, he simply responded: “the Head Coach.”

In my opinion, he will eventually become part of the NFL Hall of Fame and with a possible 4th Superbowl on his hands, he’ll stand as one of the greatest coaches of all times.
