Two of the Texas triangle played last night, The Spurs won this time

Predictions from betting houses were pretty consistent with the final score between the Spurs and the Mavs, the two Texan teams competing to be the number one of the state. Lines were -5 and the final score was 97-94, really nothing outstanding as you would expect great deffense and offense from both.

At the end of half time, things were tied at 47 and on the third, the Mavs made a run to take a 10 point advantage that didn’t lasted too long since the score was 70-68 with 1:20 to play, then on the fourth, none of the teams were more than 5 points ahead from the other and an air of uncertainty was flowing on the air during the whole quarter, things were tied at 94 when Erick Dampier fouled Duncan who scored the two free throws and gave a 96-94 lead to San Antonio, then the same Dampier fouled Michael Finley who scored one of two and gave the final lead to the Spurs.

The Mavs are hoping to have Jason Kidd ready and adjusted to their plays real soon, as it seems like the former star of the Nets is still struggling to look good with his new team, he only managed to score 7 points and finished with 10 rebounds, which is not bad, but those are not his real numbers, he could and will do better in the future as he is a highly regarded player in the NBA.

Tim Duncan was the man who leaded the Spurs with 31 points and 15 rebounds, while Manu Ginobili finished with 17 and Michael Finley with 16, while for the Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki ended with 28 and Josh Howard and Brandon Bass each had 16.

I would say that both teams have enough faculties to make it to the playoffs, but right now, I think the Spurs are a little bit better as they are more compact than the Mavs, but once Kidd is finally adjusted to Dallas, that’s a different story.

Nuggets beat Sonics 138-96

Nothing like ending up with a 3 game losing streak by coming with 138 and win the game, and that is the case with the Nuggets, who scored the most points for the whole league this season in the NBA.

With the Western Conference being the most competitive of the two, and trying to get a space in the playoffs, it is almost a duty for teams like the Nuggets to beat low profile teams like the Sonics, who finished the game with 96 points. Interestingly, the team that scored the most points before this game were the Suns and against Denver, so the victory had a different meaning for the Nuggets.

Kenyon Martin had 23 points, while Carmelo Anthony finished with 14 for the Nuggets, while for the Sonics, Mickael Gelabale and Kevin Durant both finished with 16.

It is a tough race on the West, the street-wise mentality that the Nuggets have carried since signing both Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson is a sign of a good coming show, but it will not help Denver as a team in order to make it to the playoffs since they play mostly in an individual way.

And with teams like the Spurs or the Lakers on the same conference, they cannot allowed to spoil their good run so far.

Yao Ming out for the rest of the season

It’s good to see that Dikembe Mutombo is still playing professional basketball, and even more interesting is the fact that he’s doing it for one of the most competent teams in the NBA, the Rockets. Not so great is the fact that he’s playing in replacement of Yao Ming, and even worst is to know that Yao will miss the rest of the season due to a stress injury on his foot.

The Rockets, before Ming’s injury were one of the main contenders for the title and one of 3 or 4 teams playing tough to win the West Conference, after his injury, they can maybe still make it to the playoffs, but it will probably going to be as a 7th or 8th seed, playing against a 1st or 2nd seed, really a hard task for Tracy McGrady and his teammates.

Now that Ming is out, McGrady is the most significant piece in the Rockets future game plan, though he is awkwardly averaging around 22 points per game, his lowest since the 2000 season.

Yao Ming, who’s major faculty is his dedication for the sport, is feeling the pressure of getting injured at a time when his team needs him the most and the fact that he is doubting about being present at the Beijing Olympic games, where he is expected to be the main figure of the event for the locals.

Seeing the Warriors and the Nuggets approaching to the top, is hard for me to give the Rockets a chance of making it to the playoffs, and if they do, I am not sure how long they will survive, really a mighty task for Houston, let’s see if they have what it takes without one of the 5 men in the NBA who is adding 20 points and 10 rebounds steadily, game after game.

Kidd’s debut shadowed by Dampier’s season highs

Jason Kidd came back to the court that saw him playing in the NBA for the first time back in the 94’ season when he was taken by Dallas as the second overall pick.

And he surely didn’t disappointed the Mavs fans that were cheering him as soon as he was announced at the beginning of the game that Dallas won to the Bulls 102-94 at the American Airlines Center yesterday night.

Kidd finished the game with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, not bad for his first game at home, and with this victory, it is 3 in a row for Dallas, all 3 non-playoff teams, much different than what is coming for the Mavs, as their next 3 out of 4 games are against conference leaders, so the real test is coming for the renovated Mavericks.

Jason Kidd played well, but the guy who took much of the attention that was conceived for the former Nets player was Erick Dampier who had 3 season highs: 37 points, 16 rebounds and 7 blocked shots. Dampier is getting more minutes now that DeSagana Diop was traded, he knows it, and he is willing to prove that he deserves that extra time on the court.

"He got the game ball tonight, Damp understands that he's going to be playing more, and he's fired up about it." coach Avery Johnson said.

Dirk Nowitzki had a good performance as usual with 29 points and Jerry Stackhouse finished with 23, while for the Bulls, Ben Gordon leaded with 25.

Suns won to the Celtics but lost to the Pistons

The Suns had a difficult test on Friday night against the Celtics, probably the most powerful team in the East, and they knew they had the virtues to come up with the victory, and so they did. This is the first time the Celtics are down by 3 losses in a row in the whole season.

With a 85-77 score that represented just fine the defensive play from both teams, though the Suns were the only ones who managed to control its adversary, since they only allowed 77 points from Boston.

Amare Stoudemire guided Phoenix with 28 points and was praised by Shaq:

"Amare Stoudemire is the best big man in the game right now -- period, bar none, I didn't know he was that good. But talking to him and watching him play, he's the best big man in the game at 25, and I mean that. I'm not just saying that to pump him up.'' O'Neal said.

Consistency is what is lacking the Suns, since they lost 116-86 to another Eastern conference team, the Pistons, and with this victory, Detroit is finishing with a 11-game winning streak by Phoenix against Eastern Conference teams, this is only their third lost in 25 matches against the East.

So, it seems like the Suns are a powerful entity, but they are surely lacking that strength that can give them a certain degree of security, but that’s the way it goes in the NBA, every single team, whether having a good or a bad season is a potential contender every single match.

The Cavs brought Ben Wallace from the Bulls

Lebron James finally got the help he needed, that is, if Ben Wallace starts performing at his best, which he hasn’t while with the Bulls.

So the trade period ended yesterday at 3 pm and nobody would have expected the Cavs to come up with deals involving a 60% of the starting lineup that Mike Brown had on the court just a couple of days ago.

Wallace arrived to the Cavs in exchange of Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons, Shannon Brown and Larry Hughes, who had a deal similar to the one Wallace had with the Bulls, $60 million for 5 years, but none of the two did the job they were getting paid for, and so they might have a better chance in their new teams, Hughes has had a rise on his plays lately and so Wallace is expected to fit perfectly to Lebron’s game.

Another two outstanding players that will wear a Cavs shirt from now on are Wally Szczerbiak and guard Delonte West coming from the Supersonics in exchange for Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall.

I think that with the addition of Wallace and Szczerbiak, the Cavaliers truly have an option for giving a great performance at the NBA playoffs, competition is hard, but with Lebron being a candidate for the MVP, I believe in them more than ever.

Shaq played well, but the Suns fell to the Lakers as Kobe had 41

Shaq’s debut with the Suns wasn’t as bad as expected, he actually had a good performance yesterday night against the Lakers.

Kobe Bryant helped Los Angeles to take down the Suns just by 6, as the final score was 130-124, and Bryant could perform greatly even though he is still injured on one of its fingers, but if he had taken the choice of getting operated right away, the Lakers could have said goodbye to the championship.

There were some excellent plays by Shaq who is understimated as a passer, he’s starting to show that he can be a great deal of help for Leandro Barbosa who ended up with 17 points and also for Amare Stoudemire, who finished the game with 37 and 15 rebounds, and of course the Real Deal had his moments, specially on the fourth quarter, where he scored 9 of his 15 points of the night.

The Diesel was coming in and out of the court since he is just adjusting to the type of game play delivered by the Suns so he was just making presence, showing some experience and getting better for coming matches, he is also still in a recovery process from the hip injury that took him straight to the operations room and out of the arenas for one month.

I think there will be at least a couple of more games for the Suns to adjust to Shaq and viceversa, but I think many of O’Neal’s critics are giving it a second tought after seeing him performing yesterday.

Shaq debuts tonight against the Lakers

Tonight Shaq will really need to prove that he’s “The Real Deal” since he will be wearing the Suns shirt for the first time and interestingly, against the Lakers, the team he helped to obtain 3 straight NBA titles.

Shaquille O’Neal has more disfavorable opinions than anything else, mostly because of his age, but the truth is that he has the experience to lead any team, including Phoenix.

The Lakers are going to be a very difficult first test for “The Diesel”, but he’s not the star of the team, he knows that his position is more of a teacher one.

He has 15 seasons on his shoulders and a solid professional career many would kill for, I am just not sure if he will reach the glory with the Suns, but he at least is trying to stay in the game, and that is good enough for one of the richest players on all sports.

Both teams are very tight, with the Suns leading just by one game, they are 37-16 and the Lakers 36-17 in the Pacific Division, but Los Angeles have won 2 of their last 3 matches, and tonight is the last meeting between the two franchises, it is surely a great time for Phoenix to level things up.

Steinbrenner: why they don’t attack other sports?

After the debacle surrounding baseball these days, Hank Steinbrenner, one of the two brothers whom owns the Yankees, came out saying that he’s tired of all the stones being thrown at the major leagues, since he considers football a sport that is more predisposed for the use of performance enhancement drugs.

"Everybody that knows sports knows football is tailor-made for performance-enhancing drugs. I don't know how they managed to skate by. It irritates me. Don't tell me it's not more prevalent. The number in football is at least twice as many. Look at the speed and size of those players." He said.

I would have to say that I am agree with Steinbrenner’s opinion, if they are assaulting one sport and getting alot of famous names dirty, then they should go for the rest of the professional leagues and do a general cleaning, I am not a hater of people who uses juice to keep up with their performance, but when you do it for a living, when that is your profession, then you should be concerned about public opinion and I also think about those other guys who decide to stay clean but can’t keep up with the dishonesty around them and end up being second places just for doing things right? Not fair for anybody.

But the big guys in Football couldn’t wait to speak up their minds as to Steinbrenner’s comments: “We’ve had year-round random testing with immediate suspensions since 1990 and we conduct approximately 12,000 steroids tests a year.” Said NFL spokesman Greg Aiello.

But I guess Aiello’s statements are not strong enough to hold back some people that is bittered by the whole fiasco, and I’m sure there will be investigations, not only around the NFL, but probably around the NBA and the NHL too.

It is a run, one that everybody preffer to miss, but it will be sometime to know who’s the most corrupt.

Jason Kidd, finally to the Mavs

Jason Kidd has his mind in Dallas, as it is very possible that he will be playing for the Mavericks as soon as in just a few days, but this deal has being in the talks for quite a while and it has never come to an end.

Kidd has stated that he wants to leave the Nets for a team that can be a possible championship runner, and since he’s old for the league, with 34 years old, he might be thinking of retirement, but leaving with some glory at least.

Aparently there are trade-related rules issued that has prevented the trade in the past, and there is a slight possibility that Kidd won’t leave the Nets, though, he is already talking in past tense, and it seems like his mind is already in Dallas ground.

"The state itself is beautiful, the golf is great, the fans were wonderful for the time we were there, and I wish them the best of luck." He said.

Kidd started his career with the Mavs in 1995 being selected as the second overall pick for Dallas, and sharing the honors of NBA rookie of the year with Grant Hill, he was a member of the so called “Three J’s” but soon after he found himself playing for a team that saw the playoff lights every year Kidd played for them: the Suns, and in 2001, he finally came to New Jersey in a trade for Stephon Marbury.

Now Kidd is returning home and he might end up his professional basketball jorney with the team that saw him rise and become one of the most consistent players in the NBA.

The Nets are getting 3 players: point guard Devin Harris, center DeSagana Diop and swingman Maurice Ager and in addition to that retired forward Keith Van Horn and Trenton Hassell, and two first-round draft picks and $3 million, while the Mavs will acquire Kidd who will leave New Jersey along with Malik Allen.

If the deal takes place with no major incidents, Kidd might make his debut with the Mavs shirt next week on the same ground where he just played this weekend for the NBA All Star game, New Orleans.

NFL asks for Michael Vick’s bonus money back

Even though he is serving a 23 month prison sentence, Michael Vick was able to keep nearly 17 million of 20 coming from bonuses from 2004 to 2007 as per U.S. District Judge David Doty ruled in his favor, now the Atlanta Falcons are asking for the end of the judge’s jurisdiction over labor matters since they feel he’s biased against them.

Vick was convicted last year to serve a sentence due to the operation of Bad Newz Kennels an illegal dog fights group, he is expected to be released from prison as early as 2009, in the mean time his new house is the United States Penitentiary at Leavenworth, Kansas.

If he’s release in a short period of time, he might have the chance to go back and play professional football again, but his comeback will be subject to NFL special terms and the willing of a team to take him, specialists says if Vick returns, he will do it in a different position, not as a quarterback, and the posibility of canadians to see him playing at their league is descarted since no convicts to obtain a canadian visa.

Michael Vick was one of the most promising quarterbacks in the league, with a contract that surpass even the lucrative earnings of Payton Manning, signing for 10 years for $130 million with a bonus of extra $37 mill.

He was chose as first round pick when he was only 22 years old and that year he made rival deffensive men know that he was an agressive quarterback, winning the respect of many, he is also known for being a multiple pro bowler, including that first season achieving career highs in pass completions (231) and yards (2,936), among many other records and awards including the ESPY and Archie Griffin Awards while playing college football.

Warriors took down the Suns and the West has a new leader: the Hornets

Incredible display of talent yesterday night when the Suns fell just by two points to the Warriors with the final score 120-118 and with this win, the Warriors moved the Suns a stair down from the leadership of the Western Conference, the new leader are now the Hornets.

No team had the lead with more than 8 points during the whole night, it really felt like a playoff game since every both squads were converting every time they’d approach to the rival’s net, and with just 2 seconds on the clock, the Suns had the chance to win the game, they handled the ball to Leandro Barbosa, who threw for a 3 pointer that could have given the final 121 advantage to Phoenix, but the Brazilian failed it and so the Warriors started to celebrate their victory.

Amare Stoudemire had an awesome night with 29 points and 13 rebounds, and Shaq just observed the match from the bench, nobody is certain when is going to be the debut of The Diesel” with the mighty Suns.

Shaq himself has stated that he doesn’t want to go in and prevent his new team to keep on performing the way they have being doing it lately, he doesn’t want to the motive of a sudden slow down.

But this victory was mostly in the hands of Monta Ellis, who finished with 37 points for the Warriors, and Golden State won without their newest star: Chris Webber, who was at the Arena but wearing street clothes, comments says that Webber hasn’t look good in the first 3 games he started, maybe a little tired and at a certain level, disoriented.

Tonight might come the chance for Shaq to play for the first time with Phoenix who is playing the Mavs before taking a well deserved break, and so it is the perfect chance to see if O’Neal has what it takes to be part of the team with the most potential to make it to make it pass the playoffs.

New NFL coaches: a bond of unexperience

It looks like NFL teams are trusting the tough head coach position to unexperienced guys like John Harbaugh, who doesn’t have a head coaching background.

Team owners like Redskins Dan Snyder are betting to the new talent, guys with a clean record, people that doesn’t have any black marks on their history.

Let’s take a quick review to these new head coaches and let’s see who has the most chances of making and who doesn’t.

Jim Zorn, a former NFL quarterback, has never been a coordinator before, he was hired as the Redskins offensive coordinator just a few weeks ago and suddenly got promoted to heach coach to his own surprise, he is arriving to a team that gave a good fight on the last stages of the season that just finished and even made it to the playoffs, but there is wild card on the game, and it is the fact that he didn’t got to choose his own staff, this is something that he will need to adjust to and see if there is enough good chemistry to come up with results.

On the Ravens, John Harbaugh has the advantange of counting with enough autonomy and trust from owner Steve Bisciotti and general manager Ozzie Newsome, but playing against him is the fact that he doesn’t have a previous offensive coordinator background, and the Ravens are urged for a better quarterback to add to their attack, so if he doesn’t manage to come up with some victories quick, he might end up being fired as former Baltimore coach Brian Billick.

The guy that has the most difficult task in hands may be Tony Sparano, the new head coach for the Dolphins, since Miami is coming from a 1-15 season and the task of rebuilding their roster is a major one, he will surely going to need some serious help and the cooperation of players in general, they don’t have a competent quarterback and find it might be the key stone of the whole story.

Mike Smith is probably the guy with the most experience among these new coaches, he’s a former Jaguars defensive coordinator, and if he can find a way to build a strong defense, the Falcons have the chance to hold opponents and win games, but something that puts him along the same lines as these other new guys is the fact that they don’t have an outstanding quarterback either, since Michael Vick is serving his sentence and running back Warrick Dunn is counting his last days as a professional NFL player.

Well at least these are signs of change, and change is always a positive thing, even if they fail, the testing is taking place and it just makes it more interesting for the next season.

Spurs won to the Raptors 93-88 with 34 from Ginobili

Teams in the West are still asking questions to the main answer: how to beat San Antonio, the holder of 4 championship rings since 1999, when they took down the Knicks 4-1, then on 2003 4-2 over the Nets, 4-3 over the Pistons on 2005 and 4-0 against the Cavs last season.

And they are showing every game that they are still a strong contender for the NBA championship this season, the last proof came yesterday night when they won over the Raptors 93-88, with Manu Ginobili adding 34 points and 15 rebounds and Tim Duncan scoring 22 points and helping with 13 rebounds.

"That's why they are the world champions,'' Raptors assistant coach Mike Evans said.

The Raptors shortened the Spurs advantage to only 4 points in the fourth quarter but Duncan came from a rest in the bench and instantly restored the order to give an even bigger advantage to San Antonio and finally the victory.

The Spurs have won the past 10 games out of 12 against the Raptors, but this type of games at least serves Toronto as a continued lesson on what the’re doing wrong and what is left to study to improve their game.

Things are getting really interesting now that the NBA is approaching to final stages, with the Lakers being the top contender to take away the title from the Spurs hands, this is if Andrew Bynum can recover completely and keep up with the rythm he had before getting injured.

Spurs fell to the Celtics at Boston

It’s not all the time that you have the choice to be one on one with one of your childhood idols, as it was the case of Glen Davis helding Tim Duncan in the game that the Celtics won 98-90 over the Spurs.

“It’s Tim Duncan, man. Tim Duncan, the league MVP, the NBA Finals MVP. It’s amazing. You’re out there talking to him.” Davis said.

And with Paul Pierce scoring 35 and Ray Allen adding 19, the Celtics are still holding a record of 16-0 against any team of the Western Conference while this also meant the third straight victory for Boston. On the Spurs, Duncan came out with 22 points, Manu Ginobili finished with 21 and Michael Finley helped with 19.

Kevin Garnett missed his seventh consecutive game and it is also out of the Eastern Conference line up for the All Star game coming this next weekend at New Orleans, he will be replaced by Pistons Rasheed Wallace.

Revenge might come on March 17th when both teams will meet again, but this time at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, and considering that the Celtics are better on the road this year (22-4) than the Spurs who are 12-12, this is a game that is on the talks already.

Well deserved victory for the Celtics who were also missing Kendrick Perkins, and a lesson for the Spurs, as they were able to take Boston down as they had a superior team on the court, but at the end, there is only one winner.

Rockets took down best Eastern team, The Cavs

The Rockets managed to beat the best Eastern team, the Cavs, even without Tracy McGrady who was off due to a respiratory infection. The 92-77 came in the hands of Yao Ming who scored 22 points and 12 rebounds and Rafer Alston with 17 and 9 assists.

This is the second lost for Cleveland in 13 games and the ninth victory for the Celtics in 10 games, now, the Cavs are coming from a victory to the Celtics and to lose against the Rockets is something that blurs that victory against the best team in the NBA.

On the Cavs, they didn’t had Drew Gooden, their second best rebounder after Lebron James who finished the night with 32 points and seven rebounds.

I guess a big secret to win games might be to have a beach as good as the regular starters, this is no secret in the NBA right now, since teams like the Celtics and the Lakers have suffered due to this, and now Cleveland, who was also missing Anderson Varejao for 5th time, another key rebounder for the Cavs.

A really low number of points for Cleveland, who had 114 on his previous match, due to the strong offensive displayed by Houston who stopped Lebron James everything they could, as James went 12-for-23 and the rest of the Cavs went 19 for 55.

Perhaps this lost served as a lesson to the Cavs, but they are still a strong contender for the NBA championship this year as they fell 4-0 to the Spurs last season on the playoffs.

NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND is here

Everything is ready for the NBA All star weekend in New Orleans, normally knows as the music mecca, now it will turn into the hoops capital in the whole planet, and it will culminate in the 57th NBA All Star game.

With the West leaded by Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Yao Ming, Tim Duncan and Allen Iverson and the East by Dwayne Wade, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Lebron James and Jason Kidd, but even though Garnett is one of the starters, it is not certain that he will see action since he is suffering of abdominal pain and probably Antawn Jamison will be starting for him.

The event will be watched in 215 countries, and will be covered by more than 1000 press services including TV and radio.

Events that will take place during the weekend included the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge, the Sprite Slam Dunk contest and the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout.

This is a weekend not to be missed, since the best of the best will leave everything on the court in order to go for the MVP ring.

This is exactly the type of event that a town like New Orleans needed to raised more than one low spirit product of the natural disasters that blew more than half of the town away.

Good for the NBA to bring this show to NOLA.

Phil Jackson: leading a team that can obtain the same glory than Jordan’s Bulls

The Lakers had to find a way to keep on winning games without the need of waiting for the return of Andrew Bynum who will stay a few more games out of the courts.

The solution has a name: Pau Gasol, the spaniard who scored 24 points on his debut with the Lakers, in their game against the Nets on Tuesday helping Los Angeles to come up with a 105-90 victory.

Now the Lakers are not so dependant on Kobe Bryant to score a massive amount of points every night to save his team, and it seemed like Kobe got shadowed by Gasol, as he only had 6 points, his season lowest and the only time he has scored less than 10 points in 94 games.

"He can shoot or he can make a play so it going to be a little more difficult for defenses to come up with a scheme." Said Kobe of Gasol.

But when Bynum comes back, the power trio of him, Kobe and Gasol is going to be as strong as the one that took the Bulls to six NBA titles and with the same coach leading them.

Pau Gasol was traded on Friday for Kwame Brown and Javaris Crittenton, and had only just one practice before the game against New Yersey, which means that he’s adapting quickly, and now the Lakers are not so interested in acquiring Jason Kidd who asked to be traded last week since he wants to play with a team that has a chance for a title.

With Bryant playing poorly, the Lakers could not have done it the same way without Gasol, something that Phil Jackson feels proud of.

Pro Bowl roster quick review

What a dissapointing final for Tom Brady and Randy Moss, they probably had the best season in all of their careers breaking records and taking his team into a journey of victory after victory for a 18-0 record, but it seems like all the glory came along with tiresome and maybe the whole Patriots team were just hoping this season to finish.

They didn’t won the Superbowl and lost the glory of becoming into the best team that has ever played the game, but a slip on the floor are just leaving them behind the Dolphins who are still the only undefeated champions, though the Pats won 18 straight and the Dolphins only 17 including the Superbowl.

Now they will not even going to play at this weekend’s pro bowl since both of them are carrying with ankle injuries. Brady will be replaced by Brown’s quarterback Derek Anderson and Bengals receiver Chad Johnson will go in instead of Moss.

But this two Patriots are not they only stars that will be missed, Chargers tight end Antonio Gates and tackle Jamal Williams also decided to skip the date, replacing Gates will be tight end Kellen Winslow and Steelers defensive tackle will play in substitution of Williams.

This is on the AFC roster, now for the NFC Brett Favre decided not to be involved and so Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia will be starting for him. The team with the most selections is the Cowboys with 13 picks, and it came as a surprise that Tony Romo is not going to start instead of his idol from youth.

Giants victory came in the last seconds

Plaxico Burress caught a pass from Eli Manning with 35 seconds left on the clock and gave the Giants the victory on Superbowl XLII, and it seemed odd that Burress’s predictions almost came to a reality as he stated that New York would come up with a 23-17 win over New England, and maybe signs were mixed up, but one of the numbers came to be real, but 17 for the Giants, not the Pats who fell just by 3 points less.

It’s not always that the winner and the loser are remembered alike in a Superbowl, but the defeat that the Patriots suffered yesterday in the hands of a more dominant Giants team is going to stay in the minds of many for years to come.

Tom Brady was left alone by his deffensive teammates and ended up being sacked 5 times, while Eli Manning was playing as outstandingly as his older brother, and now the Manning family can feel proud of having two Superbowl champions in the same number of years.

Eli received the honors of being named the MVP, a title that was more of a reality for Tom Brady than for him, but all that was left for the star quaterback of New England was a quick way out to the locker rooms once the game was over, he surely didn’t felt like being interviewed as he knew it was a dishonor not to win and remain in history as a second class team, something that could have being different if the Patriots had shown their true potential.

But last night it was all about New York and its incredible defense and how they achieved the most important victory in all of the Giant’s history.

With this win, the Giants obtained their 11 straight victory on road games and it really showed, as they were superior to the team that lost the chance of becoming into the best team in NFL history with a record of 18-0.

"I think their intensity from the beginning snap to the end of the game was really higher than ours, we just couldn't meet that intensity." Said Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss.
